Wow, I know it’s a cliche, but I can hardly believe we are fast approaching the end of 2013. Seems like just yesterday, I was making a list of my burlesque resolutions for the new year!
I’m thankful that this year has been one of growth and education for my burlesque life. Like the nerd that I am, I keep track of all the gigs I’ve ever done, and I tripled my work this year! Of course, considering that I only started doing solo work in August 2011, it wasn’t all that hard to see this huge gain. I choreographed four new solos, including an awesomely ridiculous St. Pat’s number, and a holiday-themed number.
In addition to the massive inspiration from this year’s Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend, the other two biggest highlights of my year were being the featured performer in June 2013 for Red Hots Burlesque (also where I debuted my first solo!) and competing in the Burlypicks (formerly Burlympics) in Los Angeles in September. I also am happy to be a new cast member of Kiss Kiss Cabaret.
Here’s to 2014!
